Soprano Aleksandra Kurzak has released Gioia!, her first solo recital recording for Decca.

Described by one critic as “a rising-star soprano with flashing eyes and cover-girl looks,” the Polish-born singer’s debut solo release – the title of which translates as ‘Joy!’ in English – includes arias by Rossini, Mozart, Donizetti, Strauss, Puccini, Verdi, Bellini, and her 19th-century compatriot Stanisław Moniuszko.

Accompaniment is provided by the Orquesta de la Comunitat Valenciana, conducted by Omer Meir Wellber.

Gioia! is available now.
