New Amsterdam Records is set to release two albums of contemporary American music performed by itsnotyouitsme and yMusic.

everybody’s pain is magnificent is a double-disc follow-up to itsnotyouitsme’s walled gardens (which launched New Amsterdam Records in 2008) and last year’s fallen monuments, and includes contributions by violinist/composer Caleb Burhans and guitarist/songwriter Grey Mcmurray. Described as “an open narrative journey through the duo’s breathtaking and expanding ambient universe,” it takes the form of “88 gorgeous, heart-tugging minutes of improvised cells, stacked melodic loops, and dense textural soundscapes.”

Beautiful Mechanical, the debut album from yMusic – Rob Moose (violin); Nadia Sirota (viola); Clarice Jensen (cello); Alex Sopp (flute); Hideaki Aomori (clarinet); and C.J. Camerieri (trumpet) – includes first concert works by Annie Clark and Shara Worden alongside new pieces by Son Lux, Judd Greenstein, Gabriel Kahane, and Sarah Kirkland Snider.

Both discs will be released on September 27.
