Harmonia Mundi releases anniversary tribute to Lorraine Hunt Lieberson

Harmonia Mundi has released
A Tribute to the late mezzo-soprano Lorraine Hunt Lieberson on the fifth anniversary of her death.

The two-disc compilation gathers together some of the much-loved American singer’s finest recordings of baroque arias and duets for
the label.

Highlights include selections from Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Handel’s Messiah, Theodora, Ariodante, Susanna and Clori, Tirsi e Fileno.

Also included is the aria ‘Bist du bei mir’ from Bach’s Notebook for Anna Magdalena.

Hunt Lieberson is accompanied by Nicholas McGegan, who
conducts the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and the
Freiburger Barockorchester.
