Yundi Li to release live Beijing recital on EMI Classics
Pianist Yundi Li is to release a
live recording of a recital he gave
in the Chinese capital Beijing on
EMI Classics.
Yundi Live in Beijing is the young pianist’s second disc for the label, and will couple works by Chopin (whose Nocturnes he recorded for his debut release last year) with
two traditional Chinese pieces: Cai Yun Zhui Yue and the Revolutionary Etude.
The Chopin works include three Nocturnes (No. 1 in B-flat minor,
Op. 9, No. 1; No. 2 in E-flat, Op. 9, No. 2; No. 5 in F-sharp, Op. 15,
No. 2); Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor, Op. 35, Marche funèbre;
the Revolutionary Étude in C minor, Op. 10, No. 12; Polonaise No. 6
in A-flat, Op. 53, Héroïque; Four Mazurkas, Op. 33; and Andante spianato and Grand Polonaise, Op. 22.
Yundi Live in Beijing will be released internationally on 21 March.
