Guitarist Xuefei Yang has recorded her signature work – Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez – alongside the first performance on disc of Stephen Goss’s Albéniz Concerto for her third release on EMI Classics.

The 33-year-old Chinese soloist is accompanied by the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya – the ensemble that premiered Aranjuez in 1939 – conducted by Eiji Oue. The Goss concerto was commissioned by EMI and was written to mark the centenary of the death of Isaac Albéniz
in 2009.

Completing the disc are solo performances by Yang of Rodrigo’s Invocacion y danza and the España Suite (Op.165) by Albéniz.

A bonus track – Zapateado by Regino Sainz de la Maza (coincidentally, the dedicatee of the Concierto de Aranjuez) – is available exclusively on iTunes.

Available in the U.S. from December 7, on its international release in November, the recording entered the U.K. charts at Number 16 and in Hong Kong at Number 2.
