Third awards accolade for Christopher Nupen’s film portrait of Alice Sommer Herz
Everything is a Present, Christopher Nupen’s film profile of pianist Alice Sommer Herz has received its second international award, the Czech Television Prize, at the 47th Golden Prague international television festival.
The award comes one month before the 107th birthday of the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp survivor who studied with Conrad Ansorge, one of Liszt’s last pupils. Now living in London, England, Sommer Herz was filmed by Nupen at the age of 98.
Released on the director’s own Allegro Films label, in June this
year Everything is a Present was awarded the World Documentary Bronze Medal at the New York Film and Television Festival. It was
also nominated for The Social Award at the Rose d’Or festival in Lucerne, Switzerland.
