Pianist Shai Wosner to release debut disc on Onyx
Shai Wosner is to explore the contrasting and complementary sound worlds of Brahms and Schoenberg in his debut recording for Onyx Classics.
The young Israeli-born, New York-based pianist is a former BBC New Generation Artist and a recipient of grants and awards on both sides of the Atlantic, from Avery Fischer and the Borletti-Buitoni Trust. The recording includes the Op.116 Fantasies by Brahms alternated with Schoenberg’s Six Little Piano Pieces, as well as the former’s Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Handel, and the latter’s Op.25 Suite for Piano.
The disc will be released in the UK on August 31, and in the US on October 12.
