Naxos announces US distribution deal with Warner Classics

Naxos of America is to distribute recordings by Warner Classics and its portfolio of labels in the United States from September 1.

The partnership will see more than 2,000 Warner recordings added to the Naxos distribution catalogue, and will include titles previously unavailable in the U.S.. The deal includes specialist early music labels Teldec and Das Alte Werk, the budget-price Apex imprint, and Erato and Lontano. Warner’s roster of artists includes conductors Daniel Barenboim, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and William Christie; tenors Plácido Domingo and José Carreras; violinist Maxim Vengerov; cellist Mstislav Rostropovich; American soprano Susan Graham; the San Francisco-based all-male vocal group Chanticleer; and the early music ensemble Boston Camerata.

The move strengthens Naxos of America’s position as the leading independent classical music distributor in the U.S.. Worldwide, Naxos distributes 25,000 albums to bricks-and-mortar retailers and digital download and mobile sites.
