The Celebrity Series of Boston has entered into a new partnership with the Longy School to present a debut artist series at the Cambridge conservatory in the 2012-13 season.

“The partnership we are forging with Longy is one we hope to continue for years to come,” said Celebrity Series president and executive director, Gary Dunning in a released statement. “Presenting these young artists at the start of their careers adheres to our mission of presenting the best performers from around the world and exposing Boston audiences to the next generation of outstanding artists.”  All the artists will also hold educational sessions with Longy students, adds Dunning.

The series will open October 5 with pianist Daniil Trifonov, a prize winner at the Tchaikovsky, Chopin, and Rubinstein competitions. The Pacifica Quartet, ensemble-in-residence at Longy from 2006-2010, will return for a program with clarinetist Anthony McGill on October 24.

Also appearing are violinist Vilde Frang (January 23), guitarist Miloš Karadaglić (February 13) and soprano Susanna Philips and tenor Joseph Kaiser (May 1).

All concerts will take place at Longy’s intimate 275-seat Pickman Hall.

Subscriptions for the debut series are now on sale. Subscription tickets for the Longy series will also be offered as part of the Celebrity Series 2012-13 season subscription, which will be announced next week. Call 617-482-2595 or go to www.celebrityseries.org.
